Gift Series

The 'Gift Series' was inspired by all the little objects in my room that I realised I had been gifted and that held so much value. I wanted to explore the sentimental and emotional value that gifts hold and I decided to ask my friends about their most precious gifts.

Hannah and her Piano

This animation is based off the voice recording my friend Hannah sent me about the history of her piano. I was inspired by Tim Burton to incorporate a lot of shadows, shapes and a black and white theme. I wanted the animation to feel nostalgic, since she focuses on how she has grown up with it beside her.

Maisie and her Vinyls.

This animation is based off the voice recording my friend Maisie sent me about her record player and a vinyl that is important to her.
I really wanted to use vivid colours to capture the emotion in this, as Maisie talked about the visual and physical aspects of the music.
